About the Role

Location: North Road, Burnaby

Salary: ECE – $27 – $30 / BI – $22 – $25

Kidstart Pediatric Therapy is excited to welcome a compassionate, energetic, and skilled Early Childhood Educator / Behaviour Interventionist (ECE/BI) to our growing team! If you are passionate about helping children learn, grow, and thrive—and bring strong ECE expertise combined with an interest in behavioural intervention—this is the perfect role for you.

This is an independent contractor position with flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Early Childhood Education Duties:

  • Plan, organize, and implement programs that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Lead enriching activities such as storytelling, music, sensory play, outdoor exploration, dramatic play, and creative arts.
  • Observe and assess each child’s interests, strengths, and needs; communicate progress to families and team members.
  • Create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

Behaviour Intervention Duties:

  • Implement individualized intervention programs designed by the Behaviour Consultant (BC).
  • Work 1:1 or in small group settings to teach communication, social, play, self-help, and behaviour-regulation skills.
  • Collect and record accurate data during sessions and collaborate with the clinical team to review progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional therapy environment.
  • Always ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of children in all settings (home, clinic, community).

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Valid ECE license with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a classroom or childcare setting.
  • 1–2 years of experience working with children with autism, developmental delays, or complex needs will be an asset.
  • Education or ongoing studies in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology, Child Development, or a related field will be an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, reliability, and confidence in following structured intervention plans.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in home, clinic, and community settings.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
