Cherling Lee
Occupational Therapist
Cherling is an experienced Occupational Therapist and the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead at Kidstart Pediatric Therapy. She brings over 18 years of professional experience, including more than 14 years specializing in pediatric rehabilitation, supporting children and families across hospital, clinic, school, and community-based settings. Cherling is a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP) in British Columbia.
Cherling completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2007 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, followed by a Master of Arts in Family Education and Family Counselling in 2011 atThe Chinese University of Hong Kong. This background allows her to understand both a child’s development and the important role families play in supporting learning and daily functioning.
Prior to relocating to Canada in 2022, Cherling worked extensively in pediatric rehabilitation services and child assessment centres, providing comprehensive assessments and a wide range of specialized interventions. These included sensory integration, fine motor development, handwriting and pre-writing skills, visual-perceptual training, ocular motor training, and daily living skills for children with diverse developmental, neurological, and medical needs. She also served as a Clinical Educator for occupational therapy students from both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Hong Kong.
Cherling has specialized expertise in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, physical disabilities, and complex developmental delays, as well as children with a range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and medical conditions. Her clinical experience spans acute hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, special childcare centres, early learning and training centres, home-based programs, preschools, and elementary school settings.
She is proficient in conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, developing individualized intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Her therapy focuses on helping children build functional skills, improve emotional regulation, and participate more fully in their everyday activities.
In Canada, Cherling was once a member of the Vancouver Regional Pediatric Team, where she provided consultative occupational therapy services to schools within the Vancouver Public School Board, supporting inclusion and participation for school-aged students with a range of developmental and functional challenges.
As the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead, Cherling provides clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to occupational therapists within the clinic. She is committed to maintaining high clinical standards and fostering professional growth to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective services for children and families.
Cherling believes in a holistic and family-centred approach, recognizing caregivers as essential partners in a child’s developmental journey. She values close collaboration with families, educators, and multidisciplinary professionals to support meaningful and lasting progress.
